Asian Conference highlights need for action
Osteoporosis Australia was represented at the 6th Scientific Meeting of Asian Federation of Osteoporosis Societies (29-31 August, Manilla).
Specialists from across the region, and representatives from the International Osteoporosis Foundation, gathered at the conference to review progress in osteoporosis care within the region.
The role of fracture liaison services and fracture clinics in hospitals was highlighted during the program. It was stressed the Asian region is set to face the largest burden of fracture and greater action is needed from policy makers and health professionals to address this growing health issue.
